HAWAI'I KAI
Neighborhood board seeks to fill vacant spot

The Hawai'i Kai Neighborhood Board seeks candidates to fill the remaining term of a vacant at-large position through May 2009.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and residents of Hawai'i Kai, which includes Portlock and Kalama Valley.

The board will act on the appointment at its May 27 meeting at 7 p.m. in the Haha'ione Elementary School cafeteria.

Candidates who attend the meeting will be asked to briefly describe their interest and qualifications. Candidates may also announce their availability by sending an e-mail to Chairman Greg Knudsen (knudsen123@gmail.com) including their address and a short statement of interest and qualifications.

The current 15 board members will make the appointment from among the eligible candidates. A majority of at least eight votes is needed for the appointment.
