After months of tutoring from Hawaii Opera Theatre staff and crew, students at Jefferson Elementary School will give a performance of "The Barber of Seville" at 6 and 7:15 p.m. tomorrow in the campus cafeteria.

The students learned wig and makeup technique and musical instruction from seasoned opera performers.

The experience enabled the school kids to engage in a performing arts regimen in the school curriculum at a time when many such programs are being cut from the educational budget.
