PCC ready to welcome voyaging canoe June 28

Advertiser Staff

The Polynesian Cultural Center will host a Family Day from noon to 6 p.m. June 28 to celebrate the grand opening of its new voyaging attraction, the Halau Wa'a.

The Halau Wa'a, or canoe house of learning, will welcome the Iosepa, an all-wood double-hulled 57-foot Hawaiian voyaging canoe, to its new home on June 27, so Family Day will be the first opportunity to see and welcome the canoe.

On this day, children 3 to 11 will be admitted free to PCC with the purchase of an adult general admission ticket.

Activities include viewing the 57-foot Iosepa voyaging canoe, interactive activities on Polynesian voyaging such as navigating with a star compass, and a free evening concert in the Hawaiian village.
