Taxi driver convicted of attempted murder

Associated Press

A taxi cab driver accused of repeatedly trying to run over one of his customers was found guilty today of second-degree attempted murder.

A Circuit Court jury deliberated less than three hours before delivering the verdict against Guillermo Fernandez, 52.

Fernandez argued with a 29-year-old customer after dropping him off near the corner of Kiawe Street and Ala Moana Boulevard last June.

Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario will sentence Fernandez Sept. 3.

The case was prosecuted by Michelle Pu'u.

The defense attorney was Todd Eddins.
