Charity Walk tomorrow on four islands

Advertiser Staff

The 30th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk will be heading through Waikiki tomorrow to benefit local charities.

The walk, which this year has the theme "Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow: Over a Thousand Miles of Smiles," will take place on O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i and the Big Island.

Since its inception in 1978, the charity walk has raised more than $19 million for Hawai'i's charities.

Sponsored by the Hawai'i Hotel & Lodging Association in partnership with The Honolulu Advertiser and KCCN FM 100, the walk is one of the largest single-day fundraisers in the state.

Last year, 10,617 walkers raised more than $1.1 million for nearly 200 local Hawai'i charities.

For more information and walker applications, visit www.charitywalkhawaii.org or call the Charity Walk representative on your island: O'ahu, 923-0407; Maui, 244-8625; Big Island, 885-2000; Kaua'i 240-6401.
