HAGATNA, Guam — Guam congressional delegate and Democratic superdelegate Madeleine Bordallo has come out in support of the presidential bid of Barack Obama.

Bordallo said Tuesday that Obama offers the leadership needed to address the challenges the U.S. territory and the rest of the nation will face in the coming years.

She says the senator from Illinois is working with Senate leaders to secure more support for the Guam World War II Loyalty Recognition Act.

Bordallo says Obama understands the effort to seek full recognition for the suffering endured by the people of Guam during enemy occupation in World War II.

She says Obama has also pledged to help improve Guam's economy.

Guam is located about 3,700 miles southwest of Hawai'i.
