E&O to hold fundraiser for Myanmar cyclone relief

Advertiser Staff

One of the few restaurants in Honolulu to include Burmese-style dishes on its menu is reaching out to the people of Myanmar (formerly Burma) affected by Cyclone Nargis: E & O Trading Co. and owner Kenwei Chong will donate 30 percent of brunch or lunch proceeds Sunday to the Myanmar Association of Hawai'i.

If that doesn't seem like a lot, consider that $2 will feed a family for a day and $50 will provide plastic sheeting sufficient for 15 shelters. And you get to eat Burmese Ginger Salad! Reservations: 591-9555. If you can't visit on Sunday, Pacific Gateway Center is assisting the Myanmar Association of Hawai'i in collecting donations: 851-7010.
