Advertiser Staff

Moanalua High School junior Tadd Fujikawa shot an even-par 72 Friday in the second round and projected to make the cut in the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup at Tojigaoka Marine Hills Golf Club in Okayama, Japan.

Fujikawa was at 2-under 144. With a few of the golfers yet to complete their rounds, the cut (top 60 and ties) was at 1 under.

The clubhouse leader in the $971,000 Japan Golf Tour Organization event was Hideto Tanihara (67) at 12-under 132.

Fujikawa, 17, began his round on the back nine. He had bogeys on the par-4 No. 13 and par-4 No. 16 and a birdie on the par-4 No. 14 to make the turn at 1 over. After a bogey on the par-4 No. 1, he had birdies on the par-5 No. 2 and par-4 No. 8 to finish at even par.

Fujikawa finished 48th earlier this month at The Crowns in Japan. That was the first time he made a cut on the JGTO tour and the second time he made a cut since turning pro last year.
