Reginald Carlos "Red" Pettway, who was brought back to Honolulu from Alabama on Tuesday, pleaded not guilty today to charges related to a May 2007 slaying in Kane'ohe.

Pettway is charged with first-degree burglary and being an accomplice to armed robbery and kidnapping. He is being held in lieu of $2 million bail at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center.

Jury trial for Pettway and two others — Jerrico Dewon "Rick" Lindsey and Melissa Ordonez — is scheduled to start July 7 before Circuit Judge Steven S. Alm.

Lindsey is the accused shooter of suspected drug dealer Benjamin Grajeda while Ordonez allegedly set up the robbery and kidnapping caper.

A fourth suspect, Charles Lee Freeman Jr., pleaded guilty to charges "related to the case."
