The Honolulu Fire Department will officially announce the promotions of one battalion chief and 10 captains tomorrow in a 9 a.m. ceremony at its Charles H. Thurston Training Center, 890 Valkenburgh Street.

The new battalion chief is Socrates D. Bratakos, who has been assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau. In 2007, Bratakos was named HFD's uniformed employee of the year.

The promoted captains are Daryl A. Evangelista, Lance T. Okai, Richard T. Tsugawa, Sheldon K. Hao, Jeffrey K. Sanchez, Andy J. Verke, Paul M. Miguel, Kenneth A. Thompson, Stuart F. Minchew, and Robert W. Thurston.
