Fujikawa shoots 71 in third round of Japan tournament

Tadd Fujikawa's third round Saturday included an eagle and three birdies, but also included four bogeys en route to a 1-under-par 71 in the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup at Okayama, Japan.

Fujikawa, the 17-year-old pro from Honolulu, was at 3-under 213, tied for 39th with several golfers yet to finish their third round.

Hideto Tanihara, the second-round leader, was at 17 under overall through 12 holes Saturday for a four-shot lead.

Fujikawa started on the back nine, and a bogey on No. 11 put him at 1 over at the turn.

On the front nine, he birdied the par-4 No. 1, but bogeyed the par-3 No. 3. Fujikawa followed with his eagle on the par-5 No. 5 and a birdie on the par-4 No. 6 to get to 2 under.

After consecutive bogeys on the par-3 No. 7 and par-4 No. 8, he finished with a birdie on the par-4 No. 9.

The final round is Sunday.
