Kihune featured speaker at Memorial Day event

Kamehameha Schools trustee and retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Robert K.U. Kihune will be keynote speaker at the annual Puna District observance of Memorial Day tomorrow.

The observance begins at 10 a.m. on the front lawn of the Puna Hongwanji Mission near the war memorial monument at Puna Hongwanji in Kea'au.

A brass quintet from Hilo High School will play prior to ceremonies, and the Waiakea High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps will post the colors. Families of Puna District servicemen killed in action will present floral arrangements.
