Mostly fair weather expected this weekend

Advertiser Staff

A high pressure area building far north of the state will fuel moderate trade winds through the weekend and into the new week, the National Weather Service said in its forecast.

The trades will result in limited showers over windward slopes and shores while leeward areas will remain mostly dry and clear, forecasters said.

The exception will take place over leeward areas on the Big Island where clouds and a few showers will develop every afternoon and evening.

Trades are expected to weaken again around the middle of the new week.
