Baseball: Phillies place Werth on disabled list

Associated Press

HOUSTON — The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Jayson Werth on the 15-day disabled list today because of a strained right oblique muscle and recalled outfielder T.J. Bohn from the minors.

Werth was injured in Thursday's 7-5 win over Houston. On May 26, Werth hit three home runs and tied a Phillies record with eight RBIs against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Werth is hitting .260 with nine homers and 26 RBIs in 40 games this season. He's started 21 games in center field and nine in right.

Bohn was hitting .162 with two homers and four RBIs in 32 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
