At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the two newly constructed Kihei-bound lanes on Mokulele Highway will be opened to traffic from the Maui Humane Society, just south of the Mehameha Loop intersection, to Pi'ilani Highway, the State Department of Transportation said.

Two new traffic signals will be operational at the Mokulele Highway/Pi'ilani Highway intersection and at the North Kihei Road/South Kihei Road intersection.

Kahului-bound motorists will continue to have access to only one lane. The second Kahului-bound lane will be opened in approximately one to two weeks.
