LAS VEGAS

DJT, the fine-dining restaurant at Trump International Hotel and Tower Las Vegas, opened Monday. Named for "The Donald," it is decorated in modern American style. Executive chef Joseph Isidori has worked at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach and also served as Trump's personal chef. He'll create modern twists on traditional dishes: squab with black beans, tangerine and ginger ($22) and misoyaki sea trout ($35). The restaurant will feature not just a dessert cart (with petit fours), but a Champagne cart, a caviar cart and a cognac cart (with absinthe).

AMERICAN TACKS ON MORE FEES

American Airlines announced this week it will charge $15 for passengers' first checked bags starting June 15. Like others, American Airlines has been charging $25 for a second checked bag since February. The new $15 fee applies to passengers using discounted tickets. The financially troubled airline, which also announced a reduction in flights, said other fees would be instituted or raised, too, for services ranging from reservation help to handling of oversized bags. The airline blamed rising oil prices.
