Kauai road projects resume

The State Department of Transportation resumes its road projects today at the following locations.

KAUMUALII HIGHWAY

VARIOUS LOCATIONS

Intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes may be expected in both directions on Kaumualii Highway through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, during construction activities at the following locations:

  • In Lawai, east of Piko Road Intersection, near Mile Post 9.8. Lanes in both directions will be narrowed for permit work on the highway. Completion of this project is anticipated in May 2008.

  • In Lawai, west of Koloa Road Intersection, near Mile Post 10.7. The speed limit in this area has been reduced and travel lanes narrowed and shifted temporarily, for shoulder work. Completion of this project is anticipated in May 2008.

  • In Kalaheo, between Lauoho Road and Hokua Road, near the Kalaheo Jelly Factory, for drainage and shoulder lane improvements. Completion of this project is anticipated in June 2008.

    KUHIO HIGHWAY

    VARIOUS LOCATIONS

    Intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes may be expected on Kuhio Highway in both directions through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. during construction activities at the following locations:

  • In Anahola, near the Pili Mai Ke Kai subdivision between Anahola Road and Kukuihale Road for intersection improvements and shoulder maintenance. Completion of this project is anticipated in October 2008.

  • In Wailua, fronting the Wailua Golf Course between Marine Camp Road and Leho Drive for guardrail improvements. This project is ongoing and anticipated to be complete by June 2008.

  • North of Kilauea Town at the Kolo Road intersection for intersection improvements. This project is ongoing with completion anticipated by December 2008.

    WAIALO ROAD

    COUNTY SEWER INSTALLATIONS

    Intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes may be expected in both directions on Waialo Road through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for Kauai County sewer system installations. Completion of this project is anticipated in June 2008.
