Fewer than 15 jellyfish found in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

Ocean Safety officials found less than 15 box jellyfish in Waikiki and less than five at Hanauma Bay today, the first of the monthly influx.

"Right now it looks like it's going to be a small influx," said Bryan Cheplic, Emergency Services spokesman. "Tomorrow is expected to be the big day."

Box jellyfish influxes usually last three days and occur once a month or so.

If you're allergic to jellyfish stings use caution before going into the water and check with a lifeguard.
