State sheriff's deputies and Maui police today arrested escapee Gary Stephen Arrojo in Wailuku on Lower Waiehu Beach Road at 3:17 p.m.

Arrojo, 45, was arrested without incident at a homeless encampment, police said.

Arrojo was located by authorities following a tip.

Arrojo escaped from Maui Community Correctional Center at 7:12 p.m. Sunday. He was being held at the facility in lieu of $5,000 bail while awaiting trial for felony shoplifting.
