Motorcyclist seriously injured in Kunia collision

Advertiser Staff

A motorcyclist was injured today in a collision on Kunia Road with a sports utility vehicle negotiating a U-turn.

The injured man, 27 from Kapolei, is in serious condition at The Queen's Medical Center, said police Sgt. Danny Kaholokula, lead case investigator.

The collision occurred at 8:02 a.m., one-tenth mile north of Kunia Drive at the start of an incline in the roadway.

According to Kaholokula, a 39-year-old Wahiawa man driving a 2003 Subaru SUV was negotiating a U-turn from the northeast side dirt shoulder of the roadway when it was struck by a 2003 Honda motorcycle.

Kunia Road was closed in both directions for the police investigation.
