Weather: Fair skies should last until Monday

The National Weather Service continues to forecast pleasant weather for this weekend.

A high pressure area far to the north of the state will keep the trade winds blowing through the weekend and into the new week, according to the forecast.

The current, mostly dry trade wind pattern will give way to a wetter one beginning on Monday, one that will likely persist through Wednesday.

Windward and mauka areas are expected to absorb most of the showers.

Here's a closer look at what the next few days have to offer:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
