A 47-year-old motorist was in police custody today after allegedly punching another driver in the face.

Police said the assault occurred Friday in Hawai'i Kai. The victim was driving on Kalaniana'ole Highway when the other driver pulled up, pointed a finger at him and began to swear, police said.

The suspect then blocked the front of the victim's car, got out and allegedly hit the 30-year-old man and his car. He fled the scene but was arrested later by police.
