The Salvation Army hosted a "Pau A'ready" block party in Waipahu today in an attempt to get an anti-gun and anti-gang message across to teens.

More than 300 kids and family members turned out at Pupu'ole Park, behind Waipahu Intermediate School, to enjoy the food, musical entertainment and other activities from 9 a.m. to noon.

While the event was aimed primarily at teens, there were activities for younger children as well.
