City releases entire EIS draft for rail

The City and County of Honolulu this morning released the entire Environmental Impact Statement on its proposed elevated commuter rail project.

The Federal Government authorized the EIS release of the statement on Wednesday.

The city released an executive summary on Thursday.

Today is the first time the entire document has been released to the public.

It can be viewed at www.honolulutransit.org.

Honolulu Rail Transit is a proposed 20-mile elevated rail line that would connect West O'ahu with Downtown Honolulu and Ala Moana.
