Pair rescued from damaged catamaran at Waimea Bay

Two people from a damaged catamaran near Waimea Bay were brought safely to shore today by city lifeguards on jet skis.
Lifeguards, who responded at 4:15 p.m., reported no injuries and also towed the damaged catamaran to the beach, said Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
The catamaran was about 500 yards offshore, Cheplic added.
