KILAUEA
Waterline replacement to cut service overnight

A 12-inch waterline will be installed at Kilauea Bridge this week as part of the bridge replacement project.

The work will begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday and is expected to be completed by 4 a.m. the following day.

Water service in the entire east Kilauea area up to Waipake will be affected.

There will be no water service at Kilauea School, along Kolo Road, between Pukalani Place and Ho'okui Road and Place, Malulani Street and Place, and Liliuokalani Street, between Kolo Road and Kahe Street.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for the shutoff by storing the water they need for this six-hour period before the start of the project.

Those who live between Ho'okui Road and Waipake are asked to refrain from using water for the duration of the work as storage tanks servicing the area will not have the capacity to be refilled.
