Surf: Skimpy today, but big waves on the way

Advertiser Staff

Surf will be on the skimpy side today, but much bigger stuff should arrive by tomorrow, the National Weather Service said.

The NWS forecast calls for surf of just 1 to 3 feet along north-, east- and west-facing shores while surf along south-facing shores is expected to be 2 to 4 feet today.

But a major northwest swell arriving should start rolling in early tomorrow, producing surf near the advisory level along north-facing shores when it peaks later in the day.

Meanwhile, another northwest swell will build on Saturday, and peak near advisory level heights on Sunday.

No other significant swells are expected.
