Oahu homeowners can go online for real property assessment notices

Advertiser Staff

O'ahu property owners can now receive their real property assessment notices by e-mail, the city has announced.

Beginning Dec. 15, eligible homeowners will be able to file their home exemption claims online for the 2010-2011 tax year and beyond. Property owners will also be able to file appeals online to the Board of Review for the 2009-2010 tax year, from Dec. 15 to Jan. 15.

"This is another example of the city using its technology capabilities to improve the delivery of important information to the public and streamline the way we do business, as we've successfully done with motor vehicle registration renewals, certain types of building permits and other requirements," Mayor Mufi Hannemann said.

Additional information about the new online services is available by visiting the city's Real Property Assessment Web site at www.realpropertyhonolulu.com or by calling 768-3799.

Questions may also be sent by e-mail to bfsrpmailbox@honolulu.gov.
