Nevada ousts Rainbows from WAC soccer tournament

Nevada ousted Hawai'i, 2-1, in the opening round of the Western Athletic Conference women's soccer tournament today at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev.

The Wolf Pack, the tournament's sixth seed, is 3-13-3. UH, the No. 3 seed, finished 8-7-4.

Alexis Choi, a senior midfielder, scored the Rainbow Wahine's goal at 10:36. Nevada tied it on a goal by Samantha Miller at 28:29 and took the lead on a goal by Natalie Ratnavira at 43:21.

Nevada had nine shots on goal to Hawai'i's three.

Nevada plays second-seed Fresno State in the semifinals. Top-seeded Utah State plays Boise State in the other semifinal. Boise State defeated San Jose State, 2-1, today to advance.
