Lingle releases $195K for library improvements

Governor Linda Lingle has released $195,600 for the construction of accessibility and health and safety improvements to the Waipahu and Wahiaw public libraries.

Project work will include parking lot, sidewalk, ramp and restroom improvements to increase accessibility for the disabled public, as well as electrical and book drop improvements, and the installation of emergency battery-packed lights, exit lights, and fire alarm pull stations.

The total project cost is estimated to be $268,900, which includes a previous allotment of $73,300 for design.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2009 and be completed in October 2009.
