Waterford Crystal designer to sign his creations

Advertiser Staff

Jim O'Leary, director of design for Waterford Crystal, will make an appearance at Macy's Ala Moana from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The event, on the fourth floor, will include a presentation by O'Leary and an opportunity to purchase a piece for him to sign.

Waterford Crystal is the global leader in elegant designs that are both art pieces and utilitarian collectibles.

The 2008 Artisan Hurricane vase, an exclusive event piece, will be available for purchase at Macy's prior to his appearance; purchases now through Tuesday will assure a signature.

Each piece will include the artisan's signature and the year, 2008. Toasting flutes only may be personalized with couple's names. All signed purchases will include a certificate of authenticity.

O'Leary has a four-decade career at Waterford Crystal. At 15, he was a cutter of fine crystal, elevating to master craftsman status and eventually director of design. His creations are featured in Waterford's limited edition exclusives and the famed Times Square Ball that descends in the New Year's Eve midnight countdown ritual seen by millions in person and on TV.

His appearance is free.
