Big Island man sought in assault

Big Island police are looking for Robert Grant of Nanawale, who is considered a person of interest in connection with an assault near the Pahoa Fire Station on Saturday.

Grant, 35, is described as 6 feet, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he may have dyed his hair.

The 1:22 p.m. assault on Daniel Martina of Pahoa occurred on Saturday. Martina, 47, was found unresponsive in a parking lot next to the Pahoa Fire Station. He had sustained injury to his head and was initially taken to Hilo Medical Center by firefighters. He was then transported to The Queen's Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
