Field goal in second OT lifts Kahuku to OIA Red Division title, 22-19

Advertiser Staff

St. John Lessary III kicked a 26-yard field goal in the second overtime to lift Kahuku past Farrington, 22-19, for the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red Division championship tonight at Aloha Stadium.

Both teams have already secured berths in the state tournament.

Kahuku got the ball first at the Farrington 20 in the first overtime, but fumbled the ball on the first play, giving the ball to Farrington.

The Governors missed on a field-goal attempt to send the game to a second overtime.

After Farrington missed another field-goal attempt, Kahuku got the ball and drove to the Farrington 1. Kahuku was called for a delay of game penalty before Lessary kicked the game-winner.
