KALIHI
Youngsters invited to celebrate Shichigosan

Beginning tomorrow, children are invited to participate in a traditional Japanese celebration at the Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha-Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine in Kalihi.

The Shichigosan event, for boys 3 to 5 years old and girls 3 to 7 years old, is traditionally celebrated so children can report their healthy development and receive blessings. This year, the shrine will also offer a free kimono dressing for children.

For a $50 donation, kids will also get a goodie bag.

The event runs through Nov. 30

The blessings and kimono dressings are by reservation only.

Call 841-4755 or visit www.e-shrine.org to make a reservation.
