WAIPAHU/WAHIAWA
Libraries' improvement work starts in February

Accessibility and health/safety improvements will be made at the Waipahu and Wahiawa libraries following the release of $195,600 for that work by Gov. Linda Lingle.

Project work will include parking lot, sidewalk, ramp and restroom improvements to increase accessibility for the disabled, as well as electrical and book drop improvements, and installation of battery-powered emergency lights, exit lights and fire-alarm pull stations.

The total project cost is estimated to be $268,900, which includes a previous allotment of $73,300 for design.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February and finish in October.
