Weather: Isolated, scattered showers likely today

Advertiser Staff

Moderate to fresh trade winds are expected to hang around at least through tomorrow, bringing low clouds and showers mainly to windward and mauka areas, the National Weather Service said.

By mid-week, expect the trade winds to weaken, which will allow local afternoon sea breezes and nighttime land breezes to develop. As a result, clouds and showers will favor interior and mauka areas of most islands, especially during the afternoon hours starting Thursday.

Also, expect vog to be prevalent across much of the state later this week.

Here's more detail on how the start of the work week looks as of now:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 83. East wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Veterans Day: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
