Las Vegas Tenors show canceled

By Wayne Harada

The Las Vegas Tenors show, set for this Saturday at the Pikake Theater at Blaisdell Center, has been canceled — the latest victim of a soft economy.

The concert, by a popular Vegas attraction which was a sell-out attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton, was to be a benefit for HUGS, the family service non-profit organization.

But sales were slow, according to presenter Bob Peyton, whose BPE Productions Inc. had partnered with the charity's administration, Production Hawaii, to stage the act with an eight-piece orchestra. "But the support (in ticket sales) didn't come up to expectations, in a tough economy — and the economy hits the charities the hardest," said Peyton.

Refunds will be made at the points of purchase, which included Ticketmaster locations as well as the Blaisdell box office.

For information, call the box office at 591-2211.
