The state Heath Department today issued an alert advising consumers in Hawai'i of the voluntary recall of Nestle Nesquik Strawberry Powder (21.8 ounce) that may contain small fragments of aluminum.

The product was distributed in Hawai'i and sold recently in local stores, the Health Department said. There have been no reports of related illness associated with this particular product recall, officials said.

The Health Department urges the public to check for the product in their homes, and return or discard it.

Retail stores have removed remaining supplies of the product from their shelves and the Health Department will be conducting follow-up inspections of retail stores to ensure it has been removed.

Questions about the product or recall should be directed to the Nestle Consumer Service Center at (888) 637-4345.
