Prosecutors tonight charged a Hawai'i Kai man with the alleged sex assault of a 13-year-old girl last month in Manoa.

Ward Kiyo Gusukuma, 43, of a Awawamalu Street address was charged at 7:15 p.m. with two counts each of first- and third-degree sex assault. Bail is $30,000.

Gusukuma, a janitor at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, is accused of having sex with the girl between Oct. 7 and Oct. 8. The girl told police she had met Gusukuma for the first time on the day of the alleged offense.

Gusukuma voluntarily came to the main police station to be questioned at 12:20 p.m.
