Pediatrician Dr. John Briley will be honored at Imua Family Services' "Black Tie & Slippers Gala," set for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center.

Briley is a long-standing Imua board member, author and tireless advocate for children, according to the agency's executive director, Karen Jayne. He helped found the state's first early-intervention program and is a recipient of the March of Dimes Lifetime Achievement Award.

The gala will feature food by Catering from Soup to Nuts, Barefoot Wines, silent and live auctions, and a performance by Hapa.
