State issues alert on Nestle's recall of powdered drink mix

Advertiser Staff

The state Heath Department yesterday issued an alert advising consumers of the voluntary recall of some lots of Nestle Nesquik Strawberry Powder that may contain small fragments of aluminum.

The affected product is sold in yellow plastic tubs containing 21.8 ounces of powder. The recall affects only tubs with production numbers 8225 or 8226 printed on the bottom.

The product was distributed in Hawai'i, the Health Department said. There have been no reports of illnesses associated with this product recall, officials said.

The Health Department urges consumers to check for the product in their homes, and to return or discard it. Retail stores have removed any remaining product from their shelves.

Questions about the product or recall should be directed to the Nestle Consumer Service Center at 888-637-4345.
