WASHINGTON — School bands, dance teams, hula halau and other groups seeking to participate in the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parade are running out of time to file an application with the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee.

The deadline is noon Hawai'i time Friday.

All applications must describe the group and may include photos and audio-video recordings.

The committee said applications will be accepted through the mail or electronically via the Internet, the preferred method.

In 2005, the parade had 57 bands and other units chosen from more than 300 applicants.

While any individual or group may apply, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will make the final selection.

To apply, go to one of these sites:

http://inaugural.senate.gov, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

www.afic.northcom.mil, the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee.
