Weather: Little wind, substantial vog expected today

Light southeast winds with land and sea breezes will prevail through the rest of the week as a front approaches the islands from the northwest, the National Weather Service said.

Vog will also be prevalent across much of the state in the next few days, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at our weather leading into the weekend:

Today: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 8 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind at 6 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. North wind around 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Widespread haze before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
