Advertiser Staff

After more than a year, a grand jury handed down a two-count indictment against a man who burglarized and assaulted a Waikele couple.

Shaun Ikaika Shepard was charged with one count of burglary in the first degree and one count of assault in the first degree after entering a home at 94-874 Leomana Way in Waikele, court documents said. The incident occurred Sept. 14, 2007, according to the indictment filed Wednesday.

Shepard is a multiple offender and is being sentenced for two more felonies or is already under sentence of imprisonment for a felony, court documents say.
