Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Company will hold its first ever engineering and information technology (IT) career fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Kakaako Conference Center, located on the second floor of the Ward Warehouse shopping center.

"We have current openings for electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, renewable energy, and systems engineers, as well as IT development analysts," said Faye Chiogioji, manager of Hawaiian Electric's Workforce Staffing and Development (WSD) department. "We need Hawaii's brightest minds to move our state towards energy independence while ensuring reliable service."

Hawaiian Electric engineering and IT staff members will be on-hand to answer questions and will conduct brief informational sessions at 11:30 a.m., 12:30, 5, and 6 p.m. to give prospective employees an idea of the broad range of positions and opportunities available.

Hawaiian Electric encourages all interested, qualified applicants to bring their updated resumes to the career fair. Resumes for 2009 summer engineering internship positions will also be accepted.

Ward Warehouse is located at 1050 Ala Moana Blvd., and parking at the Ward Warehouse parking structure is free. More information on vacancies can be found at careers.heco.com or by calling 543-4620.
