KONA
Alzheimer's benefit walk begins 7 a.m. tomorrow

The Aloha Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will hold its Walk in Kona at 7 a.m. tomorrow at the Keauhou Shopping Center.

Registration begins at 6:15 a.m., and a program and refreshments will follow the walk.

The walk is part of a series of events to educate the public about Alzheimer's. The walk will also generate money to provide services and programs to people with the disease and their caregivers.

More than 33,000 people in Hawai'i have Alzheimer's, the fifth most common cause of death in the United States.

For more information, contact Kona walk director Tom Brehm at tom.brehm@alz.org or 808-591-2771, or visit www.alz.org.
