By DAVID GINSBURG
Associated Press

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Chris Turner engineered a dramatic fourth-quarter drive that produced a 26-yard field goal by Obi Egekeze with 1:42 left, and Maryland beat No. 17 North Carolina 17-15 today for its school-record sixth consecutive win over a ranked opponent.

Da'Rel Scott ran for 129 yards and a touchdown and Davin Meggett had 86 rushing yards for Maryland (7-3, 4-2). The Terrapins can reach the Atlantic Coast Conference title game for the first time by winning their last two games.

The Tar Heels (7-3, 3-3) dropped out of first place in the Coastal Division and remained winless at Maryland since 1997.
