RELEASES

GRACE JONES BACK WITH ATTITUDE MUSIC

You’ll find “Hurricane” (Wall of Sound), the first new album in 19 years from Grace Jones, 60, on the shelf marked “music with attitude,” or maybe “headstrong divas,” right next to “Funhouse” (LaFace/ Zomba), the latest by Pink, 29.
Jones, a Jamaican-American model and former James Bond villain, has long fused rock and rebellion. “This is my voice, my weapon of choice,” she declares on the new song “This Is.”
Grammy winner Pink declares, “I got a brand new attitude, and I’m gonna wear it tonight/ I’m gonna get in trouble/ I wanna start a fight.” On “Sober,” she realizes that life can feel good without constant clubbing and booze. But pretty soon she’s cutting loose. Partying hard is the best revenge.

CHEAP DATE

Have a hot date this week, but not much cash for anything extravagant? Wish you knew a place with decently priced wines, and excellent food? At E&O Trading Co., bottled wine (excluding ice wines and sparkling wines) is half off every Wednesday. Labels such as Louis Jadot, Menage a Trois and Benziger can all be scored for around $15 a bottle. Pair a few püpü — say, panir naan with mango chutney, portobello mushroom skewers and lemongrass mussels — and you can get away with spending $50 on food and wine for two. ZSUZSA B. BEAUTIFUL

Wear Zsuzsa B. jewelry when you want to feel distinctive, yet feminine: It’s delicate, yet makes a strong statement. Perhaps it’s because of the pedigree of its designer, Zsuzsa Bakonyi-Rodgers, who grew up in Budapest, Hungary, speaks several languages and has a subtle, sophisticated style.
Bakonyi-Rodgers painstakingly hammers and shapes sterling silver wire around precious and semi-precious gemstones to create fluid, often whimsical shapes. Find her jewelry, $40 to $400, exclusively at the Kim Taylor Reece Gallery, 1142 Bethel St.; 546-1144, www.kimtaylorreece.com.
