Tanika Mays amassed game-highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds as Toledo defeated the University of Hawai'i-Manoa, 67-61, yesterday in the Bank of Hawai'i Invitational women's tournament at the UH-Hilo gym.

Melissa Goodall added 13 points for the Rockets (2-0).

Keisha Kanekoa had 17 points, Megan Tinnin added 15 points, and Dita Liepkalne contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Rainbow Wahine (0-2).

UH trailed by as many as 14 in the second half before mounting a late comeback. Kanekoa's 3-pointer made it 63-59 with 1:44 to play, but that was as close as UH would get.

Also yesterday, Jessica Hanato had 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as Hawai'i-Hilo beat Chaminade, 78-52 in the season opener for both teams. Amanda Adams added 13 points and nine rebounds for Hilo. Arielle Salvador had 17 points for CU.

Earlier, Arizona (1-1) outlasted Loyola Marymount (1-1), 93-88, in three overtimes.
