RESORTQUEST PACKAGE INCLUDES TROLLEY PASSES: ResortQuest's "Trolley Hop — Room & Ride" package includes two four-day Waikiki Trolley passes when booking a stay of three or more consecutive nights at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel or the Ilikai. Waikiki Trolley has four different sightseeing and shopping lines — two of which, the Red Line and the Pink Line, stop directly outside both hotels - and several transfer stops throughout Waikiki. The four-day pass allows unlimited boarding on all four lines. Additional trolley passes can be purchased on property. Rates start at $136 per night at the Ilikai and at $160 per night at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel through Dec. 21, 2009. www.ResortQuestHawaii.com, 866-774-2924.

SUNSET CRUISE UPGRADE: Star of Honolulu Cruises & Events continues its 50th-anniversary celebration with a "mahalo kama'aina" upgrade from the Plumeria to the Ali'i package on the Starlet's Polynesian Sunset Dinner Cruise for 50 cents. The "Ali'i" includes a welcome mai tai, one cocktail, upgraded three-course dinner with steak, chicken and shrimp kebab entree, private table and souvenir photo (per couple), as well as a "These Islands" show. Starlet departs at 5:15 p.m. daily from Kewalo Basin, Slip 4, though Dec. 30. 983-7827, www.starofhonolulu.com. $43.98 for kama'aina and military for the Plumeria, 50 cents to upgrade, with valid Hawai'i ID (Ali'i usual rate is $64.35).

DISCOUNT RATES AT MAUIAN: The Mauian's discounted rates on its newly-upgraded garden-view units are $130 per night (usually $155) and garden-view studios, which include complete kitchen facilities, are $150 per night (usually $175) from Jan. 7-31.

To preserve its beachside ambience, The Mauian does not have phones, stereos or television sets in its rooms and instead invites guests to the property's spacious Ohana Room, which offers television, a library, games and movies, and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access.
